Whether it's a commercial, testimonial, or a presentation, audio on your website engages your audience to a whole other level.  To be able to speak to your audience as if they were in front of you is a powerful tool.

This is a big part of the Web 2.0 movement.  Audiences no longer want to read pages and pages of content.   They want to be entertained, why do you think so many books on cd's are sold?  People don't have time to read a book about what your company does, and it can be hard to grab their attention quick enough through text, but if you have a piece of audio on your website people are more apt to listen to something rather than having to read it.  Even if you are just reading what is on the page, just like I am doing now, so if you've listened thus far you know that it's working because you haven't had to read any of the text on this page, and I am still getting my point across.
